Mission Statement
At Ben Pieper Photography, we are dedicated to celebrating the rich culinary traditions of the Midwest through stunning food photography and innovative video production. Our mission is to bring recipes to life, capturing the flavors and stories behind every dish with creativity and precision. With an extensive prop collection and a keen eye for detail, we aim to create visually captivating and mouth-watering content that inspires and delights. We are committed to excellence, professionalism, and a personalized approach, ensuring that every project not only meets but exceeds our clients' expectations.
Recipe Statement
Our recipe development team consists of Ben Pieper and Dan Trefz. Ben and Dan met in culinary school where Dan was Ben’s first sous chef and also an apprentice/student. Dan and Ben parted ways once their time was up in culinary school, only to be reunited years later in Kansas City yet again.
Recipe development is one of their favorite processes to do together when they’re not shooting stills or video in the studio. Ben’s strength is playing with bold flavors and pushing the envelope. Dan’s strength is his foundational cooking as he is more classically trained and so he has the ability to take ideas and put them into a process that is easily recreatable for anyone. They are able to cook and bounce ideas off of each other and try out making recipes from start to finish - what ingredients are we adding – more salt? More acid? Or what can we do to make it feel unique? Our hope is that we get to help influence how someone presents a dish or help bring a new thought process of how you can mix ingredients to create something delicious.
Video Statement
We began our journey capturing the artistry of food. Now, as a full-service Kansas City video production company, we apply that same passion and precision to every project. From captivating ads to compelling stories, our team delivers tailored video solutions that exceed expectations.
Our talented team consists of Brandon, AG, and Ben, each bringing unique strengths to the table. Ben and Brandon share the directorial vision, with Brandon also providing his technical expertise as a skilled camera operator. AG expertly manages every aspect of production as our dedicated producer. We also work with a large range of kitchen professionals, food stylists, set stylists, and more
